STEPS TO CREATE A CONTAINER GARDEN

THG is proud to offer our line of planters and container gardening supplies. We have everything needed to create magnificent containers including products for water retention, root development and design

You can follow these easy steps and build yourself a beautiful container garden.

 

Container Gardening Supplies

Store n' Feed Mats #THGM1 and THGM2:
  • biodegradable mats hold 32 oz water
  • water reservoir for containers
  • water supply lasts up to 7 days
  • contain micronutrients for optimal root growth
  • last all season long
  • great for vacations
  • plants grow roots into mat & take in nutrients/water
  • can be cut for customized size
  • available in 2 sizes

Directions for Use: Place mat at root level in container. Cover with dirt and plant flowers, herbs, veggies. Add up to 32 oz water. Repeat watering every 5-7 days depending on heat and container.

Store n' Feed Gel #THGG:
  • earth-friendly powder
  • absorbs up to 400 x's its weight in water
  • 1 teaspoon powder makes 8 oz gel
  • mix into soil for water retention
  • plants can take in water as needed
  • contains micronutrients for root growth
  • use in containers or in garden beds
  • great for propagating soft wood cuttings!
  • Available in 8 oz bag

Directions for Use: For water retention: Mix 1 teaspoon powder in soil per 12" container at root level. For propagating: fill glass or plastic container with 1 teaspoon powder. Mix in 8 oz water. Place cutting directly in gel. You may need to add more water after 2 weeks time.

Store n' Feed Pebbles #1018AP:
  • stores & releases water and nutrients
  • blend in soil of container plants
  • allows space for oxygen
  • provides quick drainage of excess moisture

Directions for Use: Mix 1 cup pebbles per 12" container with soil. Works well mixed with coir brick and potting soil.

Clay Pebbles #1009CP:
  • porous growing medium
  • used as a top dressing for containers
  • provides moisture retention
  • increases root anchorage so plants don't fall over
  • keeps pets from playing in plants
  • great for forcing bulbs such as paperwhites

Directions for Use: Add a layer of clay pebbles to the top of containers 2" thick. For Bulb Forcing: Fill container with pebbles. Place bulbs 1/3 deep in pebbles and add water.

Steps To Create A Container Garden

What you need:

  • Container and Soil/Potting Mix
  • All in One Knife #4750L
  • Specialty Shears #3080L
  • Clay Pebbles #1009CP
  • Coir Brick #1007CB
  • Store n’ Feed Mat #THGM1 or THGM2
  • Pour n’ Feed for Potted Plants #PFH or Drop n’ Feed
  • Packets for Potted Plants DFPP
  • SeaResults Micronutrient Solution™
  • Variety of plants such as herbs, flowers, vegetables
  • Step 1. Soak Coir Brick with 1 gallon of water. Using the All-in-One-Knife mix equal parts coir with soil/ potting mix. Fill your container 2-3 inches of coir / soil mix.

    Step 2. Place a Store n’ Feed Mat on top of the potting mix or mix in Store n’ Feed Gel.

    Step 3. Fill container with remaining soil mixture within 3 inches from top. Using the All in One Knife mix in (1) cup Store n’ Feed Pebbles per 12” container.

    Step 4. Using All in One Knife mix in (1) Pour n’ Feed for Potted Plants bag per 12” container or plant (1) Drop n’ Feed Packet per 12” container.

    Step 5. Add plants. Top dress with layer of Clay Pebbles. For abundant flowers, vegetables and plant growth/fullness, add 1 teaspoon SeaResults per gallon water and feed containers monthly.
